Hello! I am extremely excited to be in my first year of teaching at Teller Elementary and be a part of this amazing community!
I was born in Philadelphia, but raised in Goshen, a small town in northern Indiana. I attended Eastern Mennonite University to play soccer and study biology. However, after a year, I took a gap year and moved to Bolivia to volunteer at a daycare as a Classroom Assistant. During that time, I fell in love with working with kids and finished my degree in Elementary Education at Goshen College, minoring in Teaching English as a Second Language. I was able to further study Spanish through a semester studying and teaching English in Ecuador.
I moved to Denver a year and a half ago, substitute teaching in DPS and working full-time as a server. I was so grateful to find Teller Elementary and during the 2023-2024 school year, enjoyed regularly substitute teaching throughout the school, from ECE to 5th grade. I am so excited to jump into my first year of teaching as I dream of my classroom to be one where we are all valued learners and we celebrate our differences, creating a safe, loving, and fun learning environment. This will be a year of great learning and growing, and I am so grateful to do so alongside this community.
