We value monitoring all students’ progress to ensure each and every student has the support needed to succeed. We utilize a number of different assessment platforms and strategies to have a well-rounded view of each students progress.
NWEA MAP Growth – This nationally-normed assessment is used as a benchmark interim assessment to progress monitor students in 1st – 5th grade in reading and math. MAP is administered three times in the fall, winter, and spring.
Star Early Literacy – This assessment is used in accordance with the Read Act to monitor students early literacy skills and progress in kindergarten – 3rd grade. This assessment is administered monthly at Teller.
Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) – This state-mandated assessment is administered once a year in April to our 3rd – 5th grade students. It is summative in nature and students are evaluated in literacy and math. In 5th grade only, students also take the science assessment.
Math in Focus End of Unit Assessments – These assessments are administered at the end of each math instructional unit to assess standards mastery and inform instructional next steps.
Genre Studies Culminating Writing Tasks – These culminating writing task are administered at the end of each Genre Studies unit. All writing is scored against a rigorous standards-based rubric.
