Welcome
Our mission is to inspire students to learn by challenging the potential of every child within a supportive community.
As a DPS parent, you have the opportunity to enroll your child in
any DPS school on a space available basis. Therefore it is important
for you to know what Teller has to offer as the neighborhood school for Congress Park. Please consider the following to help you choose Teller as your child's elementary school.
- Talented, experienced and dedicated teachers and staff who genuinely care about our students.
- Highly involved parents and community who volunteer at Teller and fundraise on Teller's behalf.
- Strong focus on the Arts as evidenced by vocal, band instrument and string instrument music instruction and our newly implemented enrichment classes.
Our enrichment classes offer students electives that include languages,
Monart, weaving, basic drawing, crafts, hand bells and many more
exciting opportunities for students to artistically express themselves.
- Challenge program that offers project-based study for third through fifth grade students and book clubs for first and second grade students.
- After school activities
vary depending on the time of the year. They have included Scout
troops, Destination Imagination, basketball and Kaleidoscope Corner.
- Strong and successful literacy instructional program
that strives to meet individual student needs. Students who need extra
challenge are provided it on a daily basis, as well as students who
need extra support and instruction.
This is my eighth year at Teller as a principal and I truly love this school. You won't find better teachers, or parents at another school.
We are a community that truly cares and have invested our time, efforts
and talents into making Teller an excellent school choice for all
students.
