Tuition-based Programs

Kindergarten Class:

Early Childhood Education (ECE)
The purpose of ECE is "to create an integrated and comprehensive system of diverse, high-quality early childhood education and care services that enhances the development of young children so they are ready to succeed when they enter school". Children must be 4 years old on or before November 15 of the year of enrollment in order to qualify. The ECE students benefit from the continuity of learning in an educational setting every day and preparing for kindergarten. They participate in schoolwide activities inside and outside the classroom, and by the time they enter kindergarten have already become part of the Teller family. This makes for a smooth and successful transition both academically and socially for these very young students.

Full Day Kindergarten
Teller is proud to offer full day tuition-based kindergarten. Estimated class size between 20 and 25 students, and Teller is committed to keeping this number low. The 2006-2007 full day kindergarten class size is currently 24 students. This low number allows more individualized attention for each student. Full day kindergarten also offers students an expanded curriculum. Students study music and visit the library twice a week and participate in PE and recess daily. Students also attend computer lab, receive social studies and attend enrichment classes. A daily 90 minute literacy block is used to instruct students in small groups within their skill level. For instance, while one group may be concentrating on letter recognition, another group will be reading books and writing in journals. In addition, small group centers are used daily for learning through exploration. The cost is $270 per month, however, scholarships are provided through DPS for qualified families.
