Teller is a wonderful, caring, diverse community of learners. We are a vibrant neighborhood school that is also a magnet school for highly gifted and talented learners. We also host a site-based inclusion program for students with multi-intensive needs. As a community we celebrate each others gifts and challenges and strive to build an environment that values the many voices who share their stories.
About 35% of our scholars choose to attend Teller from schools outside our boundaries. The rest of our scholars live near to school and walk, bike or drive to our community. Our busing program supports only students attending our multi-intensive inclusion program.
Teller’s Gifted and Talented program is an integrated learning program, meaning gifted and talented students are cluster-grouped with six to eight other gifted students and are integrated in mixed ability classrooms. This model was carefully chosen by parents and teachers as the best method to serve both the varied ability levels of students and model the social heterogeneity of real life. Students benefit from differentiated instruction and social inclusion. If you think you might be interested in having your child join the Teller Tigers we strongly suggest a school visit.
We host school tours every Friday from October 7th through December 16th from 9:00am to 10:00am. Please meet your tour guide in our Front Office at 8:45am. There is no need to sign up, just ring our front doorbell to join the group. Due to the volume of visitors, we regret that we cannot provide tours outside of these times. Tours will end by 10:15am at the latest.
