This year, our Assistant Principal, Sabrina Bates is participating in a leadership program called Learn to Lead. This program was designed to support the development of a pathway of qualified leaders ready to assume leadership positions and positively impact student learning in Denver Public Schools.
One opportunity the program offers its residents is an “acting principal experience.” Over the next two weeks, Sabrina will take over the leadership of the school while the current principal, Jessica Downs, is off-site.
Please welcome Principal Bates, and feel free to reach out to her with any questions and/or concerns you may have.
Join us for the Teller Open House on Thursday, January 19th from 5:30 – 7pm and get to know our learners! You can see the band rehearse, go on tours of the school (led by the responsible 5th graders), meet staff and teachers, check out our amazing science fair submissions, and enjoy refreshments! We’ll have a staff member available to answer questions about the Choice and Enrollment process, and to take applications, too!
Are you unsure if you need to fill out a CHOICE Application for your student? See below, or email Gabby at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who needs to complete a CHOICE Application:
It’s important to remember – if you “Choice Out” of your neighborhood school, you will lose your Neighborhood School priority! The school you are assigned through the Choice process becomes your new ‘Neighborhood School’ (see Gabby with questions).
Registration for Enrichment Session 2 opens on Monday, January 17th and will close on January 31st. We’re sending home Enrichment Catalogs that include all available classes, so families will have the chance to review their options over break. When Registration opens, you’ll be able to register online through the Teller website, or you can submit a paper registration form, which will be available in both the Teller office and the Teller Discovery Link Office.
Head and Heart Parents will be offering a 3-week class at Teller! This class is open to both Teller parents and other parents in the community. We will have FREE CHILDCARE available at Teller during classtimes for kids of ECE age and up. If you’re interested in taking advantage of childcare during the class, you’ll need to RSVP to Gabby by no later than the Friday before each class, either by phone at (720) 424-3563 or email at email@example.com. Please keep in mind that space is limited!
LETTING OUR OLD THING’S HAVE A NEW MEANING
IN SOMEONE ELSE’S LIFE…
This winter season, The Gathering Place, who serves women and children who are experiencing poverty or homelessness is in need of our help.
As a library project, we would like to help by collecting children’s winter clothing – jackets, sweaters, pants, boots, and mittens, as a great opportunity to teach our students the magic of giving by involving them in the process of cleaning out closets and choosing clothing in good shape to donate at the library, letting our old things have a new meaning in someone else’s life.
We’ll be collecting new socks and underwear, as well as diapers, baby food and baby wipes by classroom in order to help as much as possible.
The library will be accepting donations from Monday, December 12th thru January 27th (except during winter break) from 8 am through 3 pm. You may leave your donations at the library.
Grade level donation requests:
ECE/Kindergarten – Baby Food
1st Grade – Baby shampoo / bath wash
2nd Grade – Diapers (sizes 4,5,6 and pull-ups)
3rd Grade – Baby wipes
4th Grade – New toddler socks
5th Grade – New toddler underwear
For more information, you can send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
