5th Grade Balarat Trip – Medication Forms needed!

Dear Parent/Guardians,

Our 2017 Balarat field trip is just around the corner. I am writing you to learn about any medications that your child takes at home. As we will need doctor’s orders if you would like those medications to be given during this field trip. I have attached the general medication order that you can take to your child’s doctor. Keep in mind these need to be returned to the school as soon as possible with both your signature and your child’s medical provider’s signature. Should you have questions, feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Rachel Compton-Overbey, Health Tech

If you know your student will need to take medications that aren’t currently on file at school while on the Balarat Trip, you can print the attached forms out and bring directly to your doctor.

Garden Cleanup!!

Red wellied feet digging the veg patch over with a garden fork. Close-up with narrow depth of field, focussed on bridge of the fork.

Teller Students and Teachers are excited to start planting in the Garden starting the week of May 8th.   In order to do that they need YOUR HELP!

Please bring your shovels and rakes on Sunday May 7th from 10 till 12 to turn over the soil and clean up the paths!   Even if you don’t have a shovel we could use help assembling our new storage bin or pulling out dead plants.

If you are planting your own garden this spring and have an extra plant or seeds to donate please let us know!   We would also love some flower bulbs for fall planting if you are cleaning out your beds and have extra.

Please contact the garden leader Jennifer Baptiste at jpr19438@yahoo.com or 617-947-5315 with questions.

Library Books Due by April 28th

In order to prepare for summer break, all library books must be returned to the library by Friday April 28th, 2017. Students with overdue books and/or outstanding library fines will not be allowed to participate in Field Day on May 17, 2017.

In an effort to keep our library collection, it is important that all library books are returned. If your student lost or misplaced a library book, below are two options to replace them:

1) Pay for the book to be replaced

2) Replace the book with the same book

At Teller, we honor our library and enjoy checking out books to read. Thank you for your support in making sure we can continue to offer a variety of reading material to our students.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

As part of the library projects, we are still in need of travel size items to prepare Chemo Care Kits for Kids. As you may know, we have partnered with the Children’s Hospital to help kids with cancer alleviate chemo side effects and make their stay at the hospital more pleasant.

This is a great opportunity to teach our students the magic of giving and caring by involving them in the collection process.

The library is still accepting donations this month thru April 28th from 8 am to 3 pm.

You may leave your donations in the library or in the office if students are testing in the library.
