 Teller Family In Need

Yesterday, one of our students experienced an extremely devastating fire. The family is all safe, but they lost absolutely EVERYTHING in the fire that destroyed their home.
We’re banding together as a school to help this family through this incredibly hard time. We’re asking for community help and donations, wherever possible.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family https://www.gofundme.com/home-burns as well as a Meal Train Sign Up

There are some immediate needs that we’d like to try to help them meet:

  • Housing: as of this moment, the family is completely homeless. This family includes the mother, a dog, and 2 sons: 1 in middle school, 1 in 5th grade at Teller.
  • Toiletries
  • Clothing: mom is about a small/size 6 womens, and a size 9.5 shoe
  • the boys are sizes 12/14 and 16/18 – both wear size 8.5 to 9 shoe
    • The boys specificially need some more clothes
    • All three family members need more pants
  • Food
  • Gas
  • Dog food
  • Any donations to help with bills that are due immediately

We’re putting together a cash/grocery card donation in the Office. Any donated items can also be dropped off at the Teller office.

If anyone has any leads on affordable housing in the area, that would be a HUGE help to the family.

Thank you all for the community you create here at Teller. We are constantly humbled by the knowledge that we’ll band together to help those in need.

Teller Talks – Spring CSC Constituency Meetings

Please join us for the Spring CSC Constituency Meetings at Teller Elementary on April 25th. We are providing 3 different sessions to meet the needs of our community.

April 25th
8:30am – 9:30am
3:30pm – 4:30pm
5:30pm – 6:30pm

The goal of the spring meetings is to provide updates on the major topics of discussion from the fall. Updates will generally focus on describing progress made in each area and getting a pulse from participants about whether they think we are moving in the right direction. The meetings will consist of a presentation from school leadership and the CSC, led by Kirpal Singh, and will also reserve time for open forum discussion among participants.

Participants will be given an opportunity to suggest topics to be covered during the first CSC constituency meeting in 2017-18. The presentation materials will be posted on Teller’s website after the meetings so that interested members who were not able to attend one of the sessions have access to the information.

Library Books Due by April 28th

please-return-your-library-books

In order to prepare for summer break, all library books must be returned to the library by Friday April 28th, 2017. Students with overdue books and/or outstanding library fines will not be allowed to participate in Field Day on May 17, 2017.

In an effort to keep our library collection, it is important that all library books are returned. If your student lost or misplaced a library book, below are two options to replace them:

1) Pay for the book to be replaced

2) Replace the book with the same book

At Teller, we honor our library and enjoy checking out books to read. Thank you for your support in making sure we can continue to offer a variety of reading material to our students.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Vanessa Renner

WE STILL NEED DONATIONS FOR CHEMO CARE KITS!

The library is still accepting donations this month thru April 28th from 8 am to 3 pm.

You may leave your donations in the library or in the office if students are testing in the library.
