TellerGram November 2006![]() From the Principal……Our PTA Parents put on a FANTASTIC Halloween Carnival. This year’s carnival had so many people in attendance that there was standing room only. (Do you think we might outgrow the space we are using?) The student’s “Haunted School” theme was cleverly executed by our Dad’s and Mom’s through lots of sawing, hammering, use of card board, lumber and much ingenuity. The clean up of the auditorium was accomplished as promised. What a crew! We look forward to a repeat of a huge carnival next year with more new volunteers. A huge thanks to our parent and teacher volunteers for helping the carnival be a huge success. We had over 89% of our parents attend Parent/Teacher conferences in October. We welcome and appreciate the partnership our parents are forming with teachers to support their child’s education at Teller. If you missed your scheduled conference, please call your child’s teacher to re-schedule. Our goal is to have 100% of our families attend Parent-Teacher Conferences. Wednesday, November 15th, 11:00 to 1:00 will be Teller’s Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. Come join your child for lunch at school. (A flyer with details of the luncheon went home in your child’s Thursday folder last week.) Be sure to send back the tear off section to reserve the number of lunches you need. Do not send payment; money will be collected at the luncheon. Hope to see you for Thanksgiving Lunch at Teller. Jump Rope for the HeartDid you know that heart disease is this nation’s number 1 killer?Teller students took on the challenge to help solve this problem by participating in the Jump Rope for the Heart program. These wonderful and caring students raised over $2,000.00 for the American Heart Association. The generous contributions will support cardiovascular and education programs. All students participated in the jump rope competitions held in their PE classes. Many days of practice resulted in all students improving their jumping skills and creating healthier bodies. The most phenomenal was Ty Lang. He jumped continuously for 36 minutes, 26 seconds – A School Record! ![]()
