TellerGram January 2006

T Letter: For TellerGram<br>
From the Principal....

Happy New Year!

We wish all of our Teller families a happy and prosperous 2006!  Students shared with me the wide variety of enjoyable activities they engaged in over the winter break.  Though students were happy to be back in school on Wednesday, they missed not being able to sleep in.

With students and teachers back to the business of learning and teaching, you can help by making sure your child has a good breakfast every morning, gets to school on time, gets his homework done and spends time reading.

During the month of January, some of our Challenge and ESL students will be taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills,  (ITBS) as required by these programs.

Karti Lyons, Principal

BONNEFOI TELLS IT ALL
by Jena Winn

Cathey Jean Bridget Bonnefoi was born in Chicago, Illinois.  She has no siblings and has lived in Colorado for 37 years.  Cathey says, “The best thing about living in Colorado is the beautiful climate”.  When Cathey was ten years old, she wanted to be a famous folk singer.  She chose to be a teacher because her father gave her three choices for her to be when she grew up: a teacher, a legal secretary, or a homemaker.  Cathey loves to see children learn.
She likes to golf, fly fish and go bowling for fun.  The best book she says she’s ever read is Holes.  The most surprising thing about her that probably no one at school knows is that she used to own a business that sold wood stoves, solar systems, green houses and movable insulating shades.  If you have any more questions, go find out from her.

Ms. Chris
by Justine Chapel

Did you know that Ms. Chris loves to teach in a red, brick building?  Well, I didn’t.  Ms. Chris’ name is Christine Baumgartner.  She was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin and has one sister named Gloria.  Ms. Chris wanted to be a gym teacher when she was ten so she could play games.  She became a teacher because she thinks she knows everything.  When Ms Chris came to Denver, it was 1969 when Neil Armstrong went to the moon!  She likes Colorado the best because of the weather.  She likes to go to garage sales to look for lost cats for fun.  Ms. Chris says, “I’m the smartest person in the world”, and she wants to know if anyone believes that.   She liked reading the Telephone Book.  Now you know all the facts about Ms. Chris.

The Mysteries of Mrs. Ball
by Kyle Parrish

Elizabeth Hernandez Ball was born in Trinidad, Colorado, along with three brothers and three sisters.  She has lived in Denver for 43 years and loves Colorado because of the many eco-systems.  When she was ten, she had no idea what she wanted to be, but she found kids so interesting she became a teacher.  Mrs. Ball says that the best part about teaching is seeing the kids grow and learn.  Her hobbies are traveling, art and drawing and gardening.  Mrs. Ball loves every book she reads.  Nobody knows that Mrs. Ball lived in New Mexico for ten years when she owned her own goat farm!
