Did you know that the Teller PTA funds many of the programs that make Teller such an amazing school? In fact, many parents assume that all of the teachers, classes and enrichment programs are a good example of their tax dollars hard at work. Sadly tax revenues simply don’t cover all of the necessary expenditures that a school faces today.
What Exactly Does Money Raised Through the PTA Pay For?- Helps to keep class sizes small ... by paying teacher and paraprofessional salaries
- Helps provide PE, Music & Art Classes
- Funds ALL Field Trips that the Children Take
- Helps Provide our Many Social Events ... for both Kids & Adults (Halloween Carnival, Family Game Nights, Art Walk, Disco Night, Wine Tasting, TellerPalooza)
- Funds Teacher Bonuses
- Provides the Principal’s Fund
- Pays for Insurance ... necessary and expensive
- Helps Fund the Lindamood-Bell progam ... a specialized reading intervention program
- which is ONLY offered at Teller out of all DPS schools
- Helps Fund the Reading Recovery program ... intense, one-on-one literacy instruction for first graders that need a little extra help
- Helps Fund the Challenge Program ... for the Highly Gifted & Talented students
- Funds PEAK (Programs for Enriching All Kids) ... our after school program
How Does the PTA Raise Money?While some students enjoy selling wrapping paper, sweets, and plants—many
fundraising events that have benefi tted Teller—these events require a disproportionate
amount of management for the funds they generate. The alternative? Teller’s newly
established Simply Giving program which allows parents, grandparents, guardians,
teachers, and friends to conveniently contribute to the PTA with preauthorized direct
withdrawals from your bank account or credit card.
How Does the Simply Giving Program Help?If 100 Teller Families gave $10 per month = $12,000
• That’s only 2 Large Lattes!
If 100 Teller Families gave $25 per month = $30,000
• 2 Large Lattes & 2 Chipotle Burritos…
If 100 Teller Families gave $50 per month = $60,000
