Teller PTA News September 2007Welcome Parents old & new!We would like to thank all of the parents who chose to send their kids to Teller and add to this wonderful community created by our teachers and principal. If you are wondering how to contribute to this community, always think of Time, Talent, or Treasure. If you have some time to help volunteer at the school, or a talent that might help the school or children, do not hesitate e-mailing the board at Teller_PTA-owner@yahoogroups.com. If you have treasure to contribute, please support our fundraisers and, if possible, consider directly contributing to the school from our website: http://teller.dpsk12.org/donate.As always, please give us feedback on how we are doing at the same e-mail address above or drop us a note in the PTA box in the office. Tim Threlkeld & Michelle Kenrick Friday Electives are coming! We need volunteers in order to make the Friday Electives program happen this fall. If you can spare 45 minutes on a Friday afternoon to assist for one or more Fridays, 9/28 - 11/9, please contact Bonnie Adrian badrian@aya.yale.edu or 303-780-7855.e-BooksAn eBook is a coupon book sold by the PTA that contains many discounts and free stuff from merchants in Denver. The cost is only $10 per book (Teller gets to keep $6 out of the $10). So support Teller and save money! Need an eBook???? Contact Clare Morey at 303-393-8784 or at clairemorey@aol.comWrapping Paper SaleEnds September 10th! Just like last year, one of our highest grossing fundraisers comes first thing in the school year. Last year, we sold almost $16,000 ($8,000 goes to the PTA). Remember, all this money helps lower class sizes, provide everyday PE, and buses for our field trips among other things. Please get out and sell!Halloween CarnivalRemember the Halloween Carnival is coming up next month. More on this next month but if you like to help build the haunted house, work starts in early October. Look for more information!Teller Yard SaleWe did it again!! The Teller Community Yard Sale raised approximately $5000!! Thanks to Liesel Worell for leading this effort along with an army of many! Despite the rainy weather, we were able to draw the crowds and sell lots of great merchandise. This fundraising event could not happen without many dedicated volunteers working over their summer holiday to make it a success. Thanks go out to many Teller parents, grandparents, and supporters for their hard work: planning, sorting, moving, hauling, packing and unpacking, keeping items dry, and finally, selling!!
