Winter Book Fair
The Winter Book Fair is just around the corner. The fair will take place from Tuesday, December 5th through Thursday, December 7th. All types of great books from Scholastic will be available for both young and old. Additionally, there will be a Build-a-Book Family Event on Wednesday, December 6th from 6:30-8:00pm, where your family can create a book together. The proceeds of this fair will go to support Teller's library. You will also have a chance to purchase a book for your child's classroom teacher. Don't forget to check their wish lists as you check out. The musical "A Christmas Carol" will be held on Thurs. Dec. 7th @ 6:30 pm. Get in the spirit--come and see our 3rd-5th graders perform this holiday classic.

Colfax Art Walk:IT WAS A COLD FRIDAY NIGHT ON COLFAX, BUT BABOOSHKA'S WAS HOT---PACKED WITH FOLKS COMING TO KICK OFF THE 2ND ANNUAL TELLER ART WALK. THERE WERE DELICIOUS SNACKS FROM THE GENEROUS KITCHENS OF GOODFRIENDS, MEZCAL, ATOMIC COWBOY AND GOOSETOWN. THERE WAS ALSO LOTS OF WINE FROM MARCYZK'S. THE ART, BASED ON THE WORKS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN ARTIST FAITH RINGOLD, WAS STUNNING. IT WAS A TREAT TO SEE HOW IT WAS DISPLAYED DIFFERENTLY IN EACH VENUE. A SPECIAL THANKS GO OUT TO ALL OUR FAMILIES, TEACHERS AND LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS WHO MADE THIS NIGHT POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY ANNA JONES, MARLA TOMBERG, TIM THRELKELD, THE PARENT INVOLVEMENT TEAM AND CUE AT BABOOSKAS!
PARENT INVOLVEMENT TEAM: Chris & Carole Shelton and Jenn & Jeff Jorgensen are the co-chairs of this new committee, which will focus on two main tasks: 1) to bring together room parents in order to support the classroom community and 2) to create a common event planning framework in order to staff our school events, while making efficient use of parent's and teacher's valuable time. To learn more about this committee, or to get involved, contact: Chris Shelton at trumanshelton73@yahoo.com.
