PTA NEWS2009-2010 FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE TO MEETFrank Merrill and Anna Jones are our new Fundraising Committee Chairs for 2009-2010. They are ready to get started on helping us brainstorm ways to achieve our $60k commitment that we made to the Teller staff. Frank will be hosting a Brainstorming Session at his house this month. Bring your creativity and ideas. More details to come in the Thursday folders.WINE TASTING EVENTEvent Chair, Sarah Kinzer, has our 2nd Annual Wine Tasting Event planned for Friday April 24th from 6 – 8pm at the Tears-McFarlane House at Cheeseman Park. Line up your babysitters now for you won’t want to miss this event. It’s our only “Adult Only” fundraiser and it’s lots of fun. There will be food, drink & plenty of time to socialize. The event is open to everyone so please invite your friends, neighbors, & family. Tickets are on sale for $25/each or 2 for $40 online.TELLERPALOOZA IS NOW DENVERPALOOZAOur biggest fundraiser of the year is in full force and is taking place at the Mercury Cafe on May 16th. Denverpalooza (formerly Tellerpalooza/Moreypalooza) brings in around $12,000 to our PTA. It’s a night of fun for the entire family. There will be local bands performing, along with food, drinks & lots of dancing for all. We are in need of Silent Auction Donations (gift certificates, gift baskets, etc). Please drop off donations with Michelle Lang in her Kindergarten classroom. You can check out the updates at http://www.denverpalooza.com.SPRING FLOWER SALEPlease support our Spring Flower/Bulb Sale this month spearheaded by Sue Schwellenbach and Susan Bradley. Forms will be going out this week. We raise over $2000 on this fundraiser and it’s a great way to get ready for spring.INTERESTED IN JOINING PTA BOARD FOR 2009-2010?We are still looking for interested parents to join the PTA Executive Board for next school year. Our Nominating Committee, Michele Foust and Roxanne Troxler, will present the candidates at the April PTA Meeting. Please contact Michele or Roxanne if interested.THANK YOU’S**Thank you to everyone who supported Teller Night Out at Steve’s Snappin Dogs. We raised almost $300 for the Teller PTA. Also thanks to Monique Rugile for organizing this event.**Thank you to all the parents and staff who volunteered to fill our Teller Elementary Table at the SPREE (South Platte River Environmental Education) Fundraiser. Teller is fortunate enough to be one of only nine sponsored schools who receive free education/field trips from SPREE and it was important for us to support them. **Thank you, everyone, for continuing to purchase grocery certificates that support our ongoing fundraiser. Thank you, Jill Cooper, for working hard to make grocery certificates readily available for purchase. **Thank you, everyone, who has volunteered time to help level classroom and library books for the Accelerated Reader. Tracy Coates has led our group of volunteers and has done a fabulous job! Parents make Teller a special school so thank you everyone for your support! Bulb Ladies Coordinators Susan Bradley and Sue Schwellenbach are blooming with excitement about this springs bulb sale!!Salvation ArmyThe Salvation Army gratefully picked up all 1384 cans of food gathered for Teller’s food drive, sponsored by the Student Council. Thank you for all your donations!$$STREET SWEEPING!!It’s street sweeping season again and parking officers would be happy to issue you a $25 citation, even if you are parking for just a moment to drop your child off at school or pick them up.
